The Problems I Kept Running Into

The coverage was weak
One candle on a coffee table did basically nothing for a full seating area. Even multiple candles struggled to protect a bigger backyard or long dining table.
If I moved my chair three feet, it felt like I left the “protected zone.” That is not exactly relaxing.
The smell and smoke got old
Some people love the citronella smell. I do not hate it, but after a while it started to feel heavy, especially around food.
I was also tired of that faint smoky haze drifting through dinner. There’s a reason smokeless mosquito repellent searches keep getting popular.
The mess was real
Wax drips on my outdoor table. Burn marks on old candle holders. Half-melted jars with weird tunnels down the center.
I know this sounds dramatic, but after a long week, I did not want one more messy thing to manage. I wanted backyard comfort, not candle maintenance.
Wind ruined everything
The tiniest breeze would make the flame dance, burn unevenly, or go out. Then I’d be relighting candles while mosquitoes treated me like the buffet had reopened.
That was the final straw for me, honestly. Hit the next button below, because the weirdest part is how easy it was to confuse that candle ritual with actual protection.
