Is It Worth the Cost?

The upfront price can feel annoying
I won’t pretend the device cost didn’t make me pause. I stood there doing that mental math we all do in the store, acting like I’m on a game show.
Candles feel cheaper because they’re familiar and low-commitment. But that’s not the whole story.
Rebuying candles adds up fast
If you buy multiple citronella candles over a season, especially for parties or larger spaces, the cost stacks up. And if they don’t work well enough, that money is basically decor spending, not effective outdoor mosquito control.
That was my issue. I was paying over and over for a vibe.
Value per evening matters
I started thinking in terms of cost per comfortable night outside. When I did that, the mosquito repellent device looked a lot more reasonable.
A product that actually lets me eat, host, and relax outdoors is worth more than a cheaper product that mostly smells convincing.
Failed repellent has a hidden cost
If your guests are swatting, your kids want to go inside, or you abandon the patio early, that’s a cost too. It steals the whole point of having outdoor space.
So yes, for me, the switch was worth it. Hit the next button below, because citronella candles do still have a place, just not the place I gave them before.
