12 Creative Ways to Mix Hydrangeas with Eucalyptus and Wildflowers

Let eucalyptus lead the movement

When I’m styling an entry table or mantel floral decor, I reach for the tallest vase I own and start with eucalyptus first. Long stems create that dramatic shape way better than trying to force hydrangeas upward.

I usually let a few eucalyptus branches spill to one side. That little drape makes the whole thing feel more natural and less arranged-by-committee.

Anchor the middle with hydrangeas

Once the greenery is in, I place hydrangeas closer to the center. They act like visual anchors, holding the design together and adding the fullness that tall arrangements sometimes miss.

This is especially good for a statement vase flowers moment in a foyer. One arrangement can completely change how polished the space feels.

Add bounce with wildflowers at the top

The final touch is a few airy stems near the top line. Wildflowers keep the arrangement from feeling too blocky, and they help bridge the distance between the heavy middle and the open top.

I like this for sideboards, fireplace hearths, and even covered porches in spring and summer. But if you want something guests notice before they even walk inside, the asymmetrical door basket in the next section is such a fun twist.
