Keeping Your Hydrangea Bouquet Fresh Longer

Change Water Often
Refresh the water every day or every other day if you can. Hydrangeas are heavy drinkers, so don’t let the vase run low.
This one habit makes a huge difference in fresh-cut flower tips and overall vase life.
Recut and Clean as Needed
Recut stems every couple of days if the arrangement is staying put for a while. Remove any leaves or fading petals that fall into the water.
Dirty water shortens bloom life fast. It’s boring advice, I know, but it works.
Place the Bouquet Smartly
Keep the arrangement out of hot sun, heating vents, and direct blasts from AC. Cool rooms help cool water flower care pay off better.
If your kitchen gets afternoon heat, move the bouquet. Flowers do not care that the light looks pretty there.
Know the Usual Lifespan
A foam-free hydrangea arrangement often lasts 4 to 7 days, sometimes longer with excellent care. Companion stems may outlast the hydrangeas, so edit as you go.
Next, I’ll cover the most common problems and quick fixes, because something always gets weird at least once.
