Double-Row Stacked Brick Edging for Depth and Presence

Why Double Rows Feel Premium
A double-row or lightly stacked edge gives serious presence. It makes a border feel intentional and substantial, which is perfect if your beds keep disappearing into the lawn visually.
This style can make average landscaping look richer fast. It is one of my favorite upgrades for a home exterior makeover.
Best Places to Use It
Use this around raised beds, sloped yards, and high-traffic lawn borders. It is also a smart choice if your mulch tends to wash out or you need stronger separation between grass and planting areas.
I really like it near large shrubs because it balances bigger plant material. Tiny edging can get visually lost in those spots.
How to Keep It Level
A solid base matters even more here because extra height makes flaws obvious. Check level often, and do not rush the first row because the top row only behaves if the bottom one is right.
For some projects, mortarless brick edging is enough. If the border is tall, exposed, or retaining soil, extra reinforcement may make more sense.
When to Use Extra Support
If kids cut through the bed, dogs launch off the border, or your soil shifts a lot, go stronger. I say that from experience, because I have definitely watched a “totally sturdy” edge slump after one rough season.
This one adds presence, but the next pattern softens everything back up. Tap the next button below because the curved fan layout is elegant in a completely different way.
