Idea 1: Create a Hamptons-Style Wraparound Deck

Make the pool feel built-in
A wraparound pool deck is hands-down one of my favorite upgrades. It hides more of the pool wall and makes the whole setup feel intentional instead of temporary.
This is the move if you want that polished Hamptons backyard inspiration look. It creates a clean visual line and gives your pool some presence.
Plan for movement and lounging
Leave enough walking room around the pool so people aren’t shimmying sideways with wet feet. I aim for clear paths plus one true lounge zone, even in a modest yard.
A pair of loungers, one umbrella, and a slim side table can be enough. You don’t need a huge footprint to get that backyard resort design vibe.
Keep the palette coastal and crisp
Use a white-wash stain with soft gray undertones, then layer in navy cushions, pale linen tones, and brushed black or nickel accents. That combo always feels expensive, even when it’s not.
If you want extra softness, add rattan outdoor furniture and a striped outdoor pillow or two. It keeps the look rooted in beach house pool decor without getting too theme-y.
Build in practical upgrades
Wide steps, clean pool deck railing ideas, and one shaded sitting area make a big difference. I also love adding a storage bench near the entry for towels and sunscreen.
If your yard is long and narrow, a wraparound deck can eat up space fast. That’s why the next idea is one of my go-to options for tighter budgets and smaller footprints, so hit the next button below.
