Anacharis

Why anacharis is a natural pool favorite
Anacharis is one of the easiest clear water pond plants to grow if you’re just starting out. It grows quickly, helps oxygenate the water, and competes with algae for nutrients.
That fast growth is a big win in the first season. When a pool is new, I want plants that get established before algae decides to throw a party.
How I like to plant it
You can anchor anacharis in gravel biofilter beds, tuck bunches into baskets, or let it float in a controlled section. I usually anchor it lightly so it stays where I put it.
It’s pretty forgiving, which I respect. Not every gardener wants a high-maintenance diva in the water.
Climate and maintenance notes
Anacharis usually performs best in cool to mild water. In hotter regions, it may slow down or thin out by late summer, especially in shallow spots with intense sun.
I trim it when stems get too long or tangle with nearby plants. Hit the next button below because vallisneria brings more structure, more movement, and a totally different underwater look.
